Dr Katherine Bond is an Infectious Diseases Physician and Clinical Microbiologist whose training experience encompassed Melbourne, Darwin, Malawi and Oxford. She has undertaken post-graduate training in the management of bone and joint infections with the Bone Infection Unit at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford University Hospital. She is the director of the Microbiology laboratory at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Dr. Bond also has an interest in global medicine and public health, which is supported by a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (Liverpool). She has clinical and laboratory public health experience from the Victorian Department of Health, the Microbiological Diagnostic Unit – Public Health Laboratory, and the Victorian Infectious Diseases Laboratory. Dr. Bond is a current PhD candidate examining the clinical impact of implementing novel microbiological diagnostic tests (including the application of COVID-19 serology).
