A/Prof Kaushalendra Rathore

Associate Professor Rathore is an Australia-New Zealand board (RACS) certified cardiothoracic surgeon and practising as consultant surgeon in a busy tertiary public surgery unit (Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital) in the city of Perth.

A/Prof Rathore has more than 20-year experience in the field of cardiothoracic surgery and have worked in various hospitals in different countries. He established multiple cardiothoracic surgical units in New Delhi where he practised as cardiothoracic surgeon for four years before moving back to Australia. During that period, he travelled to Africa and Afghanistan as a part of surgical delegation to consult needy patients and transfer them to New Delhi for their cardiac surgeries. Previously, he has served in the role of Assistant Professor in a large public hospital at Mumbai (King Edwards Medical College) and enjoyed the busy teaching schedule.

A/Prof Rathore has a keen interest in clinical research and is involved with many active projects. Academically, he remains committed to teach medical students and surgical registrars. Minimally Invasive Direct Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (MIDCABG) surgery and aortic surgery continue to be areas of interest. Outside cardiac surgery, his has a keen interest in writing, listening to Sufi music and playing tennis.
