Dr Rathore is an Australia-New Zealand board (RACS) certified cardiothoracic surgeon and practising as consultant surgeon in a busy tertiary public surgery unit (Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital) in the city of Perth. Dr Rathore is affiliated to the private hospitals (Mount Hospital, Perth and Hollywood Private Hospital, Nedlands) and Joondalup Healthcare. Dr Rathore has more than 20-year experience in the field of cardiothoracic surgery and have worked in various hospitals in different countries. He has started couple of cardiothoracic surgical units in New Delhi where he practised as cardiothoracic surgeon for four years before moving back to Australia. During that period, he was travelling to Africa and Afghanistan as a part of surgical delegation to consult needy patients and transfer them to New Delhi for the cardiac surgery. In the past he served as assistant professor in a large public hospital at Mumbai (King Edwards Medical College) and enjoyed busy teaching schedule.
Dr Rathore has keen interest in “clinical research” and he is a part of various ongoing projects, and on the academic front he is committed to teach medical students and surgical registrars. Minimally Invasive Off Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (MIDCABG) and aortic surgery are his passion, and area of interest. Apart from cardiac surgery his interest is in writing, listening to Sufi music and playing tennis.
