Mr Keat Ooi is an Australian-trained Orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in spine surgery.
Keat is a fellowship trained Orthopaedic spine surgeon who focuses exclusively on spinal conditions, making him a true specialist in this area.
He is devoted to using state-of-the-art techniques in spinal surgery, including endoscopic spinal surgery. He also has a particular interest in cervical disc replacement and robotic spinal surgery.
He believes in involving his patients in every aspect of their treatment so that they are in complete control of their medical care.
Keat received his medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 2005. He furthered his Orthopaedic surgical training at the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Victoria and Tasmania and was awarded his fellowship in 2017 by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. His particular clinical interest is in treating spine conditions which culminated in his completion of the AOA Clinical and Research Fellowship in Spinal Surgery at Austin Health and Combined Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical Spinal Fellowship at Macquarie University Hospital, New South Wales.
Keat’s treatment philosophy for adult spinal deformity and degenerative disorders encompasses multiple regions including the spine, hips and knees. He is a supervisor for Orthopaedic trainees and also teaches medical students through the University of Melbourne.
Keat is appointed as a consultant Orthopaedic and spine surgeon at Austin Health and also has a private practice. He is readily available to provide consultations and tailored treatment solutions to patients at Knox Private Hospital.
