Dr Keith Horwood

Dr Keith Horwood is a medical oncologist based at Icon Cancer Centre Southport. Dr Horwood also consults at Greenslopes Private Hospital in Brisbane in the Icon consult rooms.

Dr Horwood’s main interests are thoracic (lung cancer and mesothelioma), women’s (breast and ovarian cancer) oncology, and upper gastrointestinal cancer.

Dr Horwood graduated from the University of Queensland with First Class Honours in 1989, and during his early years as a doctor realised oncology was the area he was most passionate about. He chose oncology for the academic challenge but mostly because he finds helping patients, often in trying and dramatic circumstances, very rewarding and satisfying.

After completing his advanced qualification in medical oncology in 1997, Dr Horwood undertook a clinical fellowship in the USA and then returned to Brisbane as a specialist at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. Dr Horwood has been in private practice since 2001 and joined Icon in 2014.
