Dr Kim Bade is a Bariatric and Upper Gastrointestinal surgeon originally from Darwin. He completed his medical training through Flinders University in Adelaide and then his general surgical training in Western Australia.
After obtaining his general surgical fellowship in 2019 he completed 2 years post-fellowship training in Bariatric, gastric, oesophageal and pancreatic surgery at Joondalup Health Campus (State Bariatric Service of Western Australia) and Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital in Perth (Upper GI, Bariatric and Pancreatic Unit). These are high volume centres providing state of the art training and experience in complex minimally invasive gastroesophageal and bariatric (weight loss) surgery.
Kim moved back to Darwin in 2022 where he consults privately at Darwin Private Hospital and is appointed publicly at Royal Darwin Hospital. His particular interests are bariatric (weight loss) surgery, anti-reflux surgery, upper GI oncology and advanced endoscopy.
