Dr Laura Wang

Dr. Laura Wang was raised in Melbourne before moving to Sydney to obtain her medical degree BS(Med) MBBS, (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Science Medicine) from the University of New South Wales. She completed her surgical training across Sydney at multiple teaching hospitals including Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, and Liverpool Hospitals.

Dr. Wang was then selected for a 2 year post-fellowship training at the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.  During this time she further honed her operative and clinical management of complex tumors of the thyroid, parathyroid, skin, mouth, jaw and neck. She became the first Head and Neck surgeon to also complete the highly competitive Microvascular Reconstructive fellowship at the hospital’s 100+ year history.  This combination of skills gives her the unique ability to ensure excellent cancer care while optimising aesthetic and functional outcomes.

Dr. Wang highly values personalised care for patients. She has a dedicated Masters degree, Doctorate of Philosophy and 30+ peer reviewed publications in thyroid disease management. She has worked with world leaders in active surveillance of thyroid disease and can safely monitor thyroid cancer for suitable patients.

Dr. Wang is a highly-qualified Endocrine, Head and Neck surgeon. She is known for her meticulousness in the operating room as well as her open, friendly manner at the bedside and in rooms.
