Dr LP Cheah is an experienced surgeon and endoscopist with special interests in minimally invasive hernia repair, colonoscopy, haemorrhoids, minor plastic surgery, and pilonidal sinus surgery.
He graduated as the top student from the University of Melbourne in 1997 and completed his surgical training in England and Australia in 2005. He founded Melbourne Surgery in 2006 and has since performed over 25,000 surgical procedures.
He has been a mentor and lecturer at the University of Melbourne Medical School; and currently teaches and facilitates the Minor Procedure Skills course for HealthCert. He is also involved in training surgical registrars and is an examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Dr Cheah speaks Chinese (Hokkien, Mandarin, Cantonese) and Malay/Indonesian. With a love for languages, he can converse some words in Farsi/Dari, Italian, French, Spanish and Arabic.
