Mr Lucas Sanders

Mr Lucas Sanders is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon who performs all aspects of thoracic surgery including video-assisted thoracic surgery, lung resections, lung saving/sparing surgery, treatment of mediastinal and pleural conditions, as well as, cardiac surgery for valvular heart disease and atrial fibrillation, coronary artery bypass surgery, beating heart surgery and total arterial revascularisation.

He currently consults at the Mount Hospital, Hollywood Private Hospital, and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. He is one of a few surgeons in Perth performing the minimally invasive approach to lung surgery and has performed over 500 video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) lobectomies.

Originally from the Netherlands, Lucas became a cardiothoracic surgeon in 1997. He became a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of South Africa and practiced for 12 years in South Africa before returning to the Netherlands and working as a locum surgeon. Mr Sanders has been practicing in Australia since 2008.
