Mr Lucas Sanders

Dr Sanders performs most aspects of cardiac and thoracic surgery.  As a leader in minimally invasive thoracic surgery in Australia, Dr Sanders has performed a significant number of video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) lobectomies, making him one of the most experienced in Perth.

His main focus is reducing the trauma patients perceive and may experience with undergoing surgery.

Dr Sanders commenced private practice in 2014 and has operated a full private practice since 2023. Originally from the Netherlands, he trained in South Africa and has practiced as a Cardio-Thoracic Surgeon since 1997.  He moved to Australia in 2001 and worked at the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital as a consultant for many years.

He is dedicated to maintaining minimal wait times for both clinical appointments and surgeries, offering a weekly clinic at Mount Medical Centre.  He seeks to be available and informative to both medical practitioners and patients.
