Orthopaedic Surgery

After completing a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1984 with first class honours, Mark undertook the combined medicine and surgery degree at The University of Sydney. His internship, resident medical officer posting and basic surgical training was at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Advanced training in Orthopaedic Surgery was with the Australian Orthopaedic Association Sydney Northside training scheme, completed in 2000.

During 2001 Mark was the Lincoln Centre Fellow at Royal North Shore Hospital Hand Surgery Department with Professor Michael Tonkin, and an Honorary Research Fellow at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead with Professor David Little. Mark has researched and published articles on fracture healing and tendon repair. He is a director of the Peninsula Orthopaedics Research Institute. 

Mark is a Hand and Wrist Surgeon and serves the needs of the lower North Shore and Northern Beaches communities by being on the staff of Northern Beaches Hospitals, taking part in the Emergency and Trauma on call rosters.
