Dr Lau has many years of experience in gynaecological surgery and focussed on minimally invasive surgery/ gynae-endoscopy surgery. He also constantly dedicates himself to ongoing learning and keeping up to date with ever-changing technological advances in the field of Gynaecology. He is a Gynaecologist at Monash Health and is involved in training and mentoring junior doctors.
Dr Matthew Lau graduated from The University of Melbourne in Year 2000 and went on to train in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore. He attained the degree of Master of Medicine (O&G) from Singapore and Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (United Kingdom) in 2007. Since he returned to Australia in 2015, he has worked in Monash Health and Women's at Sandringham. He is Fellow of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
Besides general obstetrics and gynaecology practice, Dr Lau’s passion lies in fertility treatment and advanced keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery. As a specialist, Dr Lau had previously received various awards for exemplary performance in public service. He is currently a staff specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash Health. His vision is providing individualised patient care that exceeds expectations.
