Dr Matthew Peters

Dr Matthew Peters is a Queensland-trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, having undertaken training in both general and plastic surgery.

He is the director of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland School of Medicine, and a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons. 

Dr Peters’ areas of interest and expertise include aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, body contouring surgery, complex trauma and reconstructive surgery, and skin cancer surgery.

In addition to his role as director of plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr Peters coordinates one of the only public-funded plastic surgery clinics in Queensland at the RBWH providing reconstructive services for cancer, trauma, congenital and complex cosmetic breast complication cases.

Dr Peters is available for private patients through Valley Plastic Surgery, a multi-surgeon purpose-built plastic and reconstructive surgery facility located in Fortitude Valley.  Aesthetic and reconstructive consultations are available by appointment. The practice also offers local anaesthetic procedures and allied health assessments and treatments.
