Dr Michael Johnson

Dr Michael Johnson completed his MBBS in Queensland and undertook his advanced training as a Rehabilitation Physician in metropolitan and non-metropolitan hospitals throughout Queensland.

After gaining his Fellowship in Rehabilitation Medicine Dr Johnson accepted a position at Toowoomba Hospital where he was responsible for the Rehabilitation Unit and associated outreach services. In 2008 he moved to the Gold Coast to take on the role of Medical Director of the Rehabilitation Unit at Allamanda Private Hospital and continues in that role at the Gold Coast Private Hospital.

While Dr Johnson’s main interests are in the rehabilitation of the frail and deconditioned patient, orthopaedic rehabilitation and cancer rehabilitation, he is involved in the day-to-day care of patients with a variety of disorders and conditions requiring rehabilitation.

Dr Johnson is happy to be contacted by GPs and other professionals to discuss patients and organise consultation or admission to the Rehabilitation Unit at Gold Coast Private Hospital.
