Professor Memon is a general surgeon of over 35 years’ experience. Having obtained his medical degree from Sind Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan, he subsequently trained in some of the best medical centers in the world, (USA, UK, Ireland). He did his research oncology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA and laparoscopic fellowship at Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska.
He has published more than 200 papers in various international journals. He serves on the editorial boards of many international journals and regularly undertakes adhoc reviewing for a number of international journals. Professor Memon is actively involved in teaching and examining, both at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, at the University of Queensland, Bond University and University of Southern Queensland, as well as with The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He is an active member of a number of medical and teaching societies around the world. In his free times he enjoys travelling, listening to the music and playing table tennis.
