Dr Murad Ibrahim

Dr Murad Ibrahim is a respiratory, sleep and general physician; who also trained fully in intensive care medicine. He holds the position as the Medical Director of Knox Private Hospital. He is also the Medical Director of the Mitcham Sleep Centre. In addition Dr Murad Ibrahim has a number of academic roles including being a senior national examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University and is very active in the training of junior medical staff at Eastern Health.

Dr Ibrahim undertook his training in Respiratory & Sleep Medicine at Eastern Health and Austin Health. He held a public appointment at the Austin Hospital for 12 years as a respiratory and sleep physician including service at the Victorian Respiratory Support Services (VRSS); the main centre for chronic ventilation in Victoria. He continues to work at Eastern Health as a General Physician.

Dr Ibrahim has a strong interest in clinical governance. He obtained two further postgraduate studies in this area including a Graduate Certificate in Health Care Management (Deakin University) and a Graduate Diploma in Health & Medical Law (Melbourne University).

His areas of interest include chronic non-invasive ventilation; in which he completed a postgraduate Doctor of Medical Science degree at Melbourne University. He has extensive expertise in the management of complex sleep disorders, including reporting of bi-level ventilation sleep studies.
