Dr Nathan Dwyer

Nathan is an interventional cardiologist and graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2000. He completed his specialty cardiology training at the Royal Hobart Hospital in 2007. He was awarded his PhD in 2010 by researching pulmonary blood flow before undertaking 2 years of subspecialty training in coronary intervention and clinical research at the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta, Calgary, Canada. Nathan manages all aspects of cardiology with special interests in pulmonary hypertension and heart failure. His interventional cardiology work focuses on coronary stenting as well as percutaneous atrial septal defect (ASD) and patent foramen ovale (PFO) closures. Nathan is Director of Cardiology at the Royal Hobart Hospital, where he is primary investigator on a number of clinical trials and has numerous teaching responsibilities.
