Dr Niall Jefferson

Dr Niall Jefferson is a specialty trained Otolaryngologist who is deeply committed to his patients and the community. He has a particular interest in paediatrics, especially problems of the voice and airway. Dr Jefferson obtained his Fellowship in ENT Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2014. He went on to complete advanced training in paediatric ENT at the world renowned Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Ohio, USA. Dr Jefferson has trained at many hospitals around the state including Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, St. Vincent’s Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, Wollongong Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Currently he has appointments at John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle Private Hospital, Hunter Valley Private Hospital, as well as Maitland, Belmont and Kurri Kurri. Dr Jefferson is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and neck Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology head and neck Surgery.

He has a strong interest in research and teaching and is heavily involved in the ENT training program. Dr Jefferson has a special interest in paediatric and adult tracheal reconstruction and complex airway surgery, as well as congenital and acquired anomalies of the voice and airway
