Dr Omid Dashtegoli

Dr Omid Dashtegoli, MD, MMed, FRANZCP, Cert. Old Age Psych, is a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in Psychiatry of Old Age. He completed his psychiatric training at Austin Health, Melbourne. He has worked in the field of psychiatry in Victoria since 2008.  
 
Dr Dashtegoli worked at Monash Health as an Old Age Psychiatrist for almost 10 years, in different roles, and was an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Psychiatry, Monash University where he was actively involved in teaching medical students and examinations.  
 
Omid has been running an out-patient private practice at Northpark Private Hospital since 2013 and admits patients to the in-patient unit as well as offers out-patient assessment and longer-term management of older adults with mental health concerns. 
 
He has worked in different settings such as psycho-geriatric nursing homes, aged persons community mental health services, as well as in-patient units as a consultant psychiatrist. 

His special areas of interest include dementias and mild cognitive impairment, behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), mood disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and neurostimulation such as ECT and TMS.  
 
Dr Dashtegoli is a passionate psychiatrist who loves classical music, poetry and travelling. He speaks English and Persian.
