A/Prof Pascal Mancuso

Urology

Dr Pascal Mancuso is a Urological Surgeon specialising in Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery for Prostate and Kidney Cancer.  He is a high volume Robotic Surgeon who specialises in Nerve Sparing Robotic Prostatectomies (which facilitates preservation of sexual function in men being treated for Prostate Cancer) and Robotic Partial Nephrectomies (allows removal of kidney cancers while maximally preserving the normal kidney tissue).

Dr Mancuso is a Consultant Urologist who operates at the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.  He is also the Head of Urology and the Director of Robotic Prostate Surgery at Liverpool Hospital.  Dr Mancuso consults patients in his offices at Liverpool, Campbelltown and Bowral.

Educated and trained in Sydney, Dr Mancuso won multiple awards during his Urology Training.  These included the prestigious EUREP Scholarship to attend the European Urology Trainees Forum in Prague as a Final Year Urology Trainee.  Dr Mancuso then completed an eighteen month Fellowship at Stepping Hill Hospital in Manchester, England.  This hospital is renowned for its work in Robotic and Minimally Invasive Urological Surgery.

Dr Mancuso, as well as being a high volume Robotic surgeon, is actively involved in research and training.  He is involved both in training Urology registrars in Robotic and minimally invasive prostate and kidney surgery and is also an accredited da Vinci Robotic Proctor for other Urologists who are beginning to undertake Robotic Surgery.  In regards to his research activities, Dr Mancuso has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and has presented internationally at meetings.  He is currently actively involved in numerous studies centred around Prostate Cancer including a trial looking at the Patient Experience when diagnosed with Prostate Cancer through to their decision to be treated with either Robotic Surgery or Radiotherapy.

As well as understanding the importance of keeping abreast of the latest innovations in Prostate and Kidney cancer surgery and treatment, Dr Mancuso strives to ensure that he practices in an ethical and empathetic way.  He understands the stress that a diagnosis of cancer has on a patient and their family and will always focus on the patient and their family as the central figures in any decision making regarding investigation and treatment.

Robotic Surgery for Urological Cancers including prostate and kidney cancers.  obotic Nerve-Sparing Radical Prostatectomy for men with Prostate Cancer, this technique allows many men to regain their urine control and sexual function after their surgery.  For kidney cancers, Preserving the normal kidney tissue by performing a Robotic Partial Nephrectomy, this ensures that his patients are able to maintain maximal kidney function whilst being cured of their kidney cancer. Latest techniques for men with enlarged prostates.  He offers Laser Prostatectomy, Urolift and Rezum Steam Treatment for men with urinary difficulties.
