Mr Paul Einoder

I commenced working in Tasmania after obtaining my Orthopaedic Surgery Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2007.

Since then I have continued to work at both the Royal Hobart Hospital and Hobart Private Hospital providing elective and emergency services to public and private patients.

Regular attendances at conferences and workshops have allowed me to keep abreast of recent advancements in the field of Orthopaedic surgery.

I perform elective shoulder, knee and hip surgery.  Offering reconstruction and repair where possible, and joint replacement when necessary.

Success of shoulder surgery has improved over recent years.  Many elderly people suffering with chronic shoulder symptoms can now experience resolution of pain and restoration of function with shoulder replacement surgery.

In 2020, Hobart Private Hospital was the first hospital in Tasmania to acquire a MAKO robot for performing joint replacement surgery.  This allows surgery to be carried out with greater accuracy than before.  An accelerated recovery experienced by many patients.

Hobart Private Hospital Emergency is Tasmania’s only private emergency department staffed around the clock by emergency specialists.  I accept emergency referrals for both upper and lower limb trauma, which can be managed both in and out of hours as required.

I enjoy teaching the surgeons of tomorrow.  From 2017 until 2022, I was Director of Training at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

Outside of surgery I enjoy sailing, snow skiing and spending time with family of four children.
