Dr Peter Myers was educated in Brisbane and received his medical degree from the University of Queensland in 1977. He completed his Orthopaedic Training and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1985. He was also admitted as a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association in 1988.
He undertook fellowship training in Atlanta, Toronto and Edinburgh. His practice focuses on sports orthopaedics, knee and shoulder surgery. Dr Myers has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally and holds committee positions with a number of organisations. He lectures at the University of Queensland and is a Clinical Associate Professor with the Department of Surgery.
Dr Myers continues to lecture both nationally and internationally and has published numerous papers in the orthopaedic literature. A list of these publications is available for download.
Dr Myers has been involved with many sporting teams and continues this interest at an organisational level.
Dr Myers has a particular clinical interest in knee joint preservation in particular meniscus repair and replacement along with cartilage restoration and joint realignment surgery. His primary research is in meniscus regenerative techniques.
