Dr Philip Toonson

Mr Toonson graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (Hons) at the University of Tasmania in 2005. He completed his fellowship training in general surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2013.

He completed a further 2 years training in liver, pancreas and biliary surgery (hepato-pancreato- biliary/HPB) in Singapore at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre, South Australia (HPB and SA Liver Transplant Unit).

Mr Toonson moved to Darwin in 2016 and is the Head of HPB/Upper Gastroenterology Surgical Unit at Royal Darwin Hospital. He also visits Katherine Hospital and consults there at Gorge Health.

He performs a wide range of general surgery and endoscopy, including ERCP.
