A/Prof Pierre Qian is a cardiac electrophysiologist and clinical academic at the University of Sydney, specialising in the treatment of heart rhythm disorders. He has a special interest in novel technology and techniques for fluoroless catheter ablation of a wide range of arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, and premature ventricular contractions. He is also experienced in device implantation, including pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT), and leadless devices.
Pierre completed his medical degree at the University of New South Wales, a PhD from the University of Sydney and pursued specialised training in cardiac electrophysiology, including a postdoctoral and clinical fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, USA, and Harvard Medical School. His advanced training has focused on integrating novel, fluoroless techniques in catheter ablation to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
A/Prof Pierre Qian is actively involved in clinical research, with a focus on advancing electrophysiology techniques and improving outcomes for patients with complex arrhythmias. He has published and presented his work internationally and is dedicated to medical education, mentoring the next generation of cardiologists and electrophysiologists.
