Aprof Pirooz Poursoltan

Pirooz Poursoltan is an Associate Professor at Macquarie University and a medical oncologist. He has interests in lung, gastrointestinal and breast cancers and has been treating patients with disease for more than a decade. Pirooz also holds a masters degree in Medicine and researched some molecular changes in lung cancer. He has also worked in clinical genetics in addition to oncology training.

Pirooz teaches and lectures year 1 and 2 medical students. The topics are management of cancer, beyond chemotherapy, cancer genetics, lung cancer, He also contributes to bed site teaching. He is the Head of Medical Oncology discipline and heavily involved in clinical research conducted at MUH. He has a close collaboration with laboratory based research in developing new anti-cancer treatments.
