Dr Poh-Kim Tang

Dr Poh-Kim (Kim) Tang is a Consultant Psychiatrist who works with the general adult population. She has a particular clinical interest in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Perinatal Psychiatry, and has undertakend advanced training in Psychotherapy with the RANZCP.

Dr Tang currently holds a public consultant appointment with Monash Health in addition to her private practice.

Dr Tang completed her medical degree at The University of Melbourne, and went on to train as a Psychiatry Registrar at Austin Health. She has experience in treating a wide variety of psychiatric disorders, including mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, eating disorders and personality disorders. Dr Tang has experience in working in both the community and inpatient setting. She holds a Masters of Psychiatry from The University of Melbourne.

Dr Tang is committed to individualised, holistic, evidence-based treatment and care of her patients and believes in working collaboratively with patients, their families and other health professionals (including GPs and allied health professionals) in order to achieve optimal outcomes for her patients.

She uses both pharmacological as well as psychotherapeutic modes of treatment. Dr Tang is currently accredited to The Melbourne Clinic and is available for consultations, including both long and short term psychotherapy.
