Associate Professor Gallie is an orthopaedic surgeon, with a subspecialty practice dedicated to the treatment of knees and hips. As a Gold Cost local, Dr Price Gallie completed medical school at the University of Queensland, graduating in 1995. He then undertook Advanced Orthopaedic Training in Queensland, and obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2004. Dr Gallie travelled internationally to gain postgraduate fellowship experience in surgery of the knee and hip, working in both the UK and Canada. Since his return to Australia in 2006, Dr Gallie has practised on the Gold Coast, and continues to work in the public and private sectors.
Dr Gallie founded Coast Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, an innovative orthopaedic practice, dedicated to the provision of world class orthopaedic surgery with care and compassion. Dr Gallie treats many athletes, from elite professionals to the weekend warrior. He has links to many local clubs and enjoys the challenge of treating and caring for athletes of all levels.
Dr Gallie has become internationally recognised as an expert in robotic surgery and is a passionate teacher and educator. He is an Associate Professor at Griffith University, with collaborative research resulting in numerous peer reviewed publications. He is the clinical lead in the Gold Coast knee and hip fellowship program and has mentored fellow surgeons from throughout the world. He is a lead teacher in Asia Pacific for Mako robotic knee surgery and has successfully proctored many surgeons as they introduce this technology into their practice. Dr Gallie continues to speak regularly both national and international meetings and conferences.
