Dr Bhattacharyya graduated from the University of New South Wales with honours with a Bachelor of Surgery/Bachelor of Medicine and Medical Science. Her training was undertaken at Westmead and Nepean hospital where she completed basic physician training, successfully undertaking both written and clinical exams. This was followed by another five years of advanced haematology training, graduating as a fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Royal College of Pathologists Australasia.
Dr Bhattacharyya is currently undertaking a doctorate in philosophy based on the B-cell receptor of Lymphomas/Leukemias affiliated with the University of Sydney and Nepean Hospital.
