Adjunct Associate Professor Raj Reddy is a Sydney neurosurgeon and spine surgeon. He specialises in complex cranial and spinal conditions in adults and children, including degenerative spinal conditions, brain and spinal tumours, hydrocephalus and craniofacial conditions. He practises at Prince of Wales Private Hospital, and serves as Deputy Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Prince of Wales Hospital.

Complex spine surgery: Including degenerative conditions (spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, herniated discs, cervical myelopathy), spinal tumours and reconstruction.
Brain tumour surgery: Surgical management of benign and malignant tumours.
Craniofacial reconstruction: Surgery for abnormalities of the head, skull and face in adults and children.
Minimally invasive techniques: Mini-open, tubular and endoscopic approaches applied to spinal and cranial procedures where clinically indicated.

A/Prof Reddy considers non-operative management and conservative therapies where appropriate, reserving surgery for when it offers the best prospect for quality of life.
Biography
A/Prof Reddy served as Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Prince of Wales Hospital for a decade (2014–2023). In this role, he oversaw clinical governance and neurosurgical standards across the department.
He is Adjunct Associate Professor at UNSW Engineering, School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, where he contributes to neurosurgical technology development. He supervises neurosurgical trainees and medical students at Prince of Wales Hospital.
Born and raised in Sydney, A/Prof Reddy obtained his MBBS from the University of Sydney (1999) and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2009. He holds a Master of Surgery from the University of New South Wales (2010), awarded for research into the radiosurgical treatment of cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs).
He completed two international fellowships in Canada:

Paediatric neurosurgery at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Toronto.
