Dr Rakesh Iyer

Dr Iyer is a Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist and the Director of Deakin Specialists. He completed his medical training in India, and formative years in medicine were spent in India and the UK. He completed his Endocrinology training at The Canberra Hospital and ANZAC Research Institute, Sydney. Dr Iyer currently works as a Staff Specialist at Calvary Public Hospital, Bruce, and Clinical Lecturer at ANU Medical school. He is a supervisor and mentor for medical students, interns, and physician trainees and a local examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians specialty examinations.

Dr Iyer is interested in all aspects of Endocrinology and Diabetes including Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, insulin pump therapy, adrenal, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid and androgen deficiency. He is passionate about providing outcome-oriented patient care.
