Dr Ramesh Damodaran-Prabha is a general surgeon with subspeciality training in liver, pancreas and biliary surgery. After completing his general surgery training in Perth, he undertook a regional general surgery fellowship and followed with a further three years subspeciality training in Hepato Pancreatico Biliary surgery at Royal Northshore Hospital, Gold Coast University Hospital and Liverpool Hospital, Sydney.
He has also done overseas training at the world renowned pancreatic surgery unit at Royal Liverpool Hospital, UK. He has special interest in minimally invasive general surgery and has completed a Masters in Minimally Invasive Surgery. He is GESA accredited for undertaking upper and lower endoscopies.
He is an ASSET and ATLS instructor and is very passionate about teaching and empowering his medical students and surgical trainees. Ramesh, with his general practitioner wife and their two daughters, have settled on the Gold Coast and live in Southport. Ramesh works as a consultant surgeon at the Gold Coast University Hospital and is very happy to take calls at any time from general practitioners to help facilitate the best possible care for his patients.
