Rebecca provides comprehensive private gynaecology services with a focus on patient-centred care and empowerment. Her clinical interests include colposcopy, perimenopause and menopause management, abnormal menstrual bleeding, vulval skin disorders, ovarian cysts, and IUD insertion and contraceptive counselling.

Rebecca completed her undergraduate medical degree with honours at Monash University. She has trained and worked across a diverse range of healthcare settings, including large tertiary centres, smaller urban hospitals, and rural hospitals. This breadth of experience has shaped her appreciation for accessible, evidence-based care across different communities.

Dr Shields is currently a specialist at Empower Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and also holds a public appointment at the Mercy Hospital for Women.

Outside of medicine, she is passionate about supporting and empowering women in all aspects of life. Her personal interests include sewing, camping and hiking, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.
