Dr Richard Haddad is a senior Urological Surgeon - admitted as a Specialist Urological Surgeon in February 2012 - in clinical practice since. Dr Richard Haddad was born and raised in Sydney. He attended St. Patrick’s College, Strathfield where he was the 1995 HSC Dux.

He went directly into undergraduate medicine at The University of Newcastle, NSW, and completed medical school by 2000. He completed Internship in 2001 at RNSH, Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney, and remained there as PGY 2 - PGY 3, being early streamed into Surgical Training.

At first attempt in 2003, he was successful at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Primary Examination in Surgery. He undertook one unaccredited year in General Surgery through Hornsby Hospital - 2004. He was admitted into the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Advanced Accredited General Surgery Training program for 3 years from 2005 to 2007, via Prince of Wales / Bankstown Hospitals training network. He was 6 months short of becoming a fully qualified general surgeon, however switched to Urology in 2008.

He completed Urology Surgical Training in Sydney / NSW from 2008 to 2010; through Westmead, Royal Prince Alfred, Wollongong, SAN rotations.

He was successful in May 2010, at first attempt, in the final Urology Fellowship Examination. During this Senior Urology Registrar year at RPAH Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, he was exposed to laparoscopic donor nephrectomy / transplant urology, and pelvic exenteration surgery.

He subsequently undertook two Fellowship years, prior to commencing specialist practice in Sydney in January 2013. The first Fellowship was local at Royal North Shore Hospital 2011, in Laparoscopy, General Urology, and Urological Cancer Surgery.

The second Fellowship was overseas at the renowned McGill University Health Centre in Montreal Canada in 2012, incorporating The Montreal General and The Jewish General Hospitals. He spent 12 months in advanced training in Robotic Urological Cancer Surgery, where he was awarded a McGill University stipend to attend. He was one of the early Urologists to return to Australia with an International Robotic Fellowship.

He has completed a Master of Surgery through The University of Sydney (2006), where the dissertation in prostate cancer was awarded High Distinction. He has published multiple peer reviewed journal articles.

Dr Haddad is a Permanent VMO Urological Surgeon at Bankstown-Lidcombe Public Hospital, SWSLHD. He is therefore able to manage both Public and Private patients, including Urological Cancers as well as General Urology cases.

He is heavily involved in Urology Registrar training through USANZ, The Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand, and is the current Supervisor of Training at Bankstown Public Hospital for USANZ.
