Dr Russell Manley is a General, Endocrine and Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal surgeon with a particular interest in upper gastrointestinal and endocrine surgery.
Russell grew up in Mildura, country Victoria and relocated to Melbourne to commence his medical studies in 2000, graduating in 2006 from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS).
After moving to the Gold Coast in 2007 at the commencement of his internship at the Gold Coast Hospital in Southport , Dr Manley completed his junior medical career and surgical training within South East Queensland.
Dr Manley was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and subsequently completed further additional training in upper gastrointestinal and endocrine surgery at the Gold Coast University Hospital.
As well as working privately, Dr Manley is employed as a Staff Specialist at Robina Hospital and holds the position of Deputy Director of Surgery.
Dr Manley is actively involved in the supervision, teaching and education of General Surgical trainees, junior medical staff and students from both Bond and Griffith universities where he is a senior lecturer. Dr Manley is also engaged with ongoing research and has presented at national conferences. He regularly attending conferences to ensure his patients receive the most up to date clinical care and practices the latest surgical techniques.
Dr Manley is a member of both Australian and New Zealand Endocrine Surgery ( ANZES) and the Australian and Aotearoa Gastric & Oesophageal Surgery Association (AANZGOSA).
Together with his wife and two young children he is proud to continue to call the Gold Coast his home. Russell feels privileged to be able to contribute to the ongoing health care needs of his patients within the community.
