Sam Daniels is exclusively a gynaecologist and advanced laparoscopic surgeon. With no private obstetric practice he is able to devote his time specifically to the care and management of gynaecological complaints. Sam’s practice is about providing personalised care that is both patient-centred and evidence based in a relaxed and friendly environment. Sam studied medicine at James Cook University in far north Queensland. He completed his internship and residency in Rockhampton, prior to commencing further training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists through the Mater Mothers’ training program in Brisbane. During this time, Sam developed an interest in minimally invasive surgery, and sought three years of additional training in advanced laparoscopic and robotic gynaecological surgery.
He completed his first year of advanced training at the Royal Adelaide & Queen Elizabeth Hospital in South Australia with a focus on Urogynaecology. Whilst in Adelaide, Sam completed a Masters of Minimally Invasive Surgery through the University of Adelaide, and conducted research on laparoscopic sacrohysteropexy in which his findings were later presented both nationally and internationally. He then went on to complete an Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society (AGES) fellowship with the Sydney Women’s Endosurgery Centre (SWEC).
