Dr Kachhap’s particular clinical interests are perinatal psychiatry, mood disorders, psychosis and psychotherapy. Dr Kachhap joined Pine Rivers private hospital in 2012.
Dr Kachhap has over 14 years experience in psychiatry, working in all the areas of mental health including Adult Psychiatry, Perinatal Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry, Child & Youth Psychiatry, Learning Disability, Forensic Psychiatry and Consultation Liaison Psychiatry. She is trained in Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). Her research interests are Perinatal Psychiatry, Mood disorders and Psychosis. She has published articles in Perinatal Psychiatry.
Dr Kachhap began her medical training in India and completed her post graduate psychiatry in the UK where she acquired Membership of The Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2007. She completed her Fellowship training when she migrated to Australia in 2008 and acquired Fellowship of Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatry (FRANZCP).
