A/Prof Senarath Edirimanne is an experienced academic breast (oncological/oncoplastic) and endocrine (thyroid/parathyroid/adrenal) surgeon who has been providing care for patients in Nepean, Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow and North-West Sydney regions since 2011.

Education and Training: A/Prof Edirimanne obtained his undergraduate medical qualifications with honours from Flinders University Adelaide. He completed his Specialist General Surgical Fellowship at Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2007. There after he undertook further advanced training in breast and endocrine surgery at Christchurch Hospital, Endocrine Surgical Units at Sir Charles Gairdner and Freemantle Hospitals in Perth and Westmead Breast Cancer Institute (BCI).

At Westmead BCI, A/Prof Edirimanne trained in oncoplastic breast surgery and immediate breast reconstruction techniques, before commencing work as a consultant breast and endocrine surgeon in 2011.

• Surgery for breast cancer including oncoplastic breast surgery and immediate breast reconstruction

• Assessment of thyroid and parathyroid conditions and adrenal nodules - thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery including minimally invasive parathyroid surgery and laparoscopic adrenal surgery 

• Emergency General Surgery
