Dr Shannon Withers

Dr Shannon Withers is an Australian trained Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon and a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. She studied medicine at the University of Tasmania, graduating with Honours, and completed her surgical training in Victoria. Dr Withers undertook further fellowship training in Ear and Skullbase Surgery including acoustic neuroma surgery and cochlear implant surgery through the Ear Science Institute Australia and Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital in Perth. She has previously worked at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Dr Withers teaches medical students, junior doctors and surgical trainees, and is a teacher for the Royal Australian College of Surgeons training courses.

Dr Withers areas of interest are hearing loss, cholesteatoma surgery, cochlear implant surgery, implantable hearing aids, stapedectomy, perforations of the ear drum, Meniere’s disease, general and paediatric ENT surgery.

Dr Withers is married with a young family.
