Dr Sharada Devarakonda attained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (RANZCP) in 2012.
Sharada has previously worked within the public sector (Bellarine, Corio and Colac Community Mental Health Services) where she has gained extensive experience across a broad range of mental health disciplines. Sharada also worked with Drug and Alcohol Services where she established the advanced training in addiction for registrars in psychiatry.
Sharada has held the position of Director of the Addictive Behaviours Program at The Geelong Clinic since 2013. As a Consultant Psychiatrist at The Geelong Clinic, Sharada offers inpatient and outpatient assessment and the management of patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar affective disorder, personality disorder and addictive behaviours. She is currently expanding her practice to include the support of patients with gambling addiction.
Sharada believes in a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework of care, and underpins her practice with open and honest communication with her patients and referrers. She is committed to improving patient health outcomes and providing holistic and compassionate psychiatric care.
Sharada lives in Geelong and is an avid supporter of the Geelong Football Club. When not watching the footy, Sharada is training for her first marathon.
