Dr Shen Wong is a Vascular, Endovascular and Transplant surgeon at Royal North Shore, North Shore Private and Northern Beaches Hospitals. He treats all forms of vascular disease, with a particular clinical interest in complex aneurysmal disease. Dr Wong completed his undergraduate medical studies at the University of New South Wales, where he graduated with honours. He then commenced as an intern and resident at Royal North Shore Hospital, and was a Research Fellow in the Vascular Department at Royal North Shore in his third year, which enabled him to complete a Master of Medicine (in surgery) at Sydney University. Dr Wong’s specialist Vascular surgical training commenced in the UK where he spent a year as a Specialist Registrar in Southampton Hospital, before returning to Australia to further his training with years spent at Fremantle Hospital in WA, and Liverpool, Royal North Shore and Westmead Hospitals in NSW.
After becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2011, he spent a year at the renowned Cleveland Clinic (USA) to attain further advanced skills in Aortic Endovascular Surgery. With a strong interest in endovascular surgery, aortic endograft design, and both clinical and basic scientific research, Dr Wong has published and presented this work in these areas at international forums, winning several awards. He is a Clinical Lecturer of the Northern Clinical School, Sydney University, and is involved in the teaching of medical students, junior doctors and specialist surgical trainees.
