Dr Sinjini Biswas completed her medical training at the University of Melbourne, followed by advanced cardiology and interventional training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and The Alfred Hospital. After completing a PhD through Monash University, supported by prestigious scholarships from the National Heart Foundation and NHMRC, she undertook further fellowships at The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and the Bristol Heart Institute, with a focus on transcatheter aortic valve implantation and complex percutaneous coronary intervention. She subsequently worked as a consultant at the Bristol Heart Institute, a busy quaternary referral centre for the South-West of England, before returning home to Melbourne in 2023.
Sinjini presents regularly as invited faculty at major international cardiac conferences. She has received awards and scholarships from the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society and European Society of Cardiology. She was the only recipient from outside North America to be awarded the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) 30 in their 30s Award for her interventional cardiology and leadership skills. She has a public hospital appointment as Consultant Cardiologist and supervisor of junior medical staff at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and The Alfred Hospital.
