Dr Siva Sellathurai is an Australian trained Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist. Dr Sellathurai completed his undergraduate training with Honours and completed his post graduate training in the United Kingdom and Australia.

Siva works at the New Maitland Public Hospital as a staff specialist in Gastroenterology and General Medicine. He previously worked as a staff specialist at the Calvary Mater Newcastle Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of physicians and has medical registration with AHPRA. He practices in all fields of general gastroenterology with interests in inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and hepatology.

He performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and capsule endoscopy. Dr Siva consults and performs endoscopies various private hospital including Hunter Valley Private Hospital.

Dr Siva is an experienced teacher, training the junior medical officers and teaching the medical students attached to the Maitland Medical School. He was the Director of Physician Education and Training at the Maitland Hospital.

Dr Sellathurai is committed to the ongoing education of GPs on a regular basis. Direct access to endoscopies is available for suitable patients.
