Dr Steven Kahane is a Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon based on the Gold Coast with fellowship qualifications from both Australia and England. He has a particular clinical interest in hip and knee surgery, arthroscopy, lower limb joint replacement, robotic assisted surgery and sports surgery together with general orthopaedic trauma. He has a particular focus on hip fracture surgery.
Dr Kahane undertook orthopaedic training in London on the prestigious Percivall Pott training program. After completing six years of orthopaedic training and Fellowship examinations from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, he undertook a one year Australian Orthopaedic Association Approved Fellowship at the Gold Coast University Hospital working with Dr Price Gallie. During this time he completed his training in Robotic Assisted surgery including, Hip and Knee Arthroplasty He undertook the recognition pathway through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and was successful in the Australasian fellowship exam.
Dr Kahane works privately at Gold Coast Private Hospital and has been working as a consultant surgeon at the Gold Coast University Hospital, Robina Hospital and the Varsity Lakes Day hospital since February 2019.
Dr Kahane is an Assistant Professor at Bond University and a Senior Lecturer at Griffith University. He works closely with GPs and patients, to identify their problem, make a diagnosis and explain their symptoms. Dr Kahane offers patients the latest and best advice on how to treat their condition so as to maximise their quality of life.
