Dr Stuart Kirkham is a highly experienced, highly trained, leading Orthopaedic surgeon in Australia with advanced training in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal injuries. He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of all upper limb conditions affecting anything to do with joints, bones, muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and other soft tissues.

He is most well-known for his major interests and contributions in:
Carpal tunnel: he has done endoscopic keyhole CTR for over 23 years and was recently asked to teach the technique to surgeons in Japan.
Scaphoid: published the world’s biggest series of cavitary non unions treated with cancellous grafts – a proud achievement.
Tennis elbow: Dr Kirkham has suffered Tennis Elbow himself and has extensive knowledge; it’s a research focus. He has a patented implant.
Rotator cuff: has extensive experience and results to show for it.
Arthritis Surgery: he has a patented arthroplasty currently in prototype stage progress.
Frozen Shoulder: he has a research trial underway today

Medical Training
Dr Stuart Kirkham obtained his medical degree from the University of Sydney in 1990, and was awarded his fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons obtained in 1998. Dr Kirkham completed the Newcastle AOA training programme, and then undertook a 12 month Hand Surgery Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, USA between 1999-2000. He also obtained a Diploma of Microvascular Surgery through the Department of Plastic Surgery, St Joseph's Hospital, Houston Texas in 2000.
