Dr Sylvio Provenzano

Dr Sylvio Provenzano is a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon with expertise in adult and congenital cardiac and thoracic (heart and lung) surgery. He holds a specialist appointment at a major tertiary hospital and practises in both the public and private sectors, including Gold Coast Private Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital.

His clinical practice includes complex adult cardiac and thoracic surgery, encompassing coronary artery bypass surgery, valvular heart disease, and aortic disease, including surgery for aortic dissection. Where clinically appropriate, he employs minimally invasive techniques, including Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) and Uniportal Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (Uniportal VATS).

His practice emphasises evidence-based surgical care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and optimisation of peri-operative outcomes.
