Dr Tania Widmer is an obstetrician and gynaecologist with a paticular clinical interest in fertility assessment and treatment, management of endometriosis, PCOS and abnormal uterine bleeding. She cares for women with normal and high-risk pregnancies in a holistic, caring and expert manner. She performs a full range of gynaecological procedures including laparoscopic surgery, colposcopy, investigations for infertility and assisted reproduction including IVF if required. Dr Widmer has a keen interest in optimising health prior to pregnancy and provides high quality and safe care for families. Her trusted medical expertise along with her friendly, supportive and professional approach is welcomed by all her patients.
Born in Switzerland, Dr Widmer graduated from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa in 1999 and after obtaining her Fellowship in obstetrics and gynaecology with honours, relocated to Queensland to commence work at the Mater Mother’s Hospital in Brisbane in 2008. In 2010, Dr Widmer began working at the Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) and has since transitioned to provide care exclusively in private practice at Gold Coast Private Hospital since 2016. She is a proud founding member of Grace Private, providing holistic quality medical care for women of all ages.
