Dr Timothy Middleton is a Sydney trained endocrinologist with a special interest in diabetes mellitus. He is an honours graduate of the University of Sydney (BSc Adv (Hons I), MBBS). He completed his advanced training in endocrinology at the Concord Repatriation General Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Following advanced training he completed his Master of Philosophy (Medicine) in which is examined cardiac effects of sulfonylurea-related hypoglycaemia. He then went on to complete his PhD in the field of young adult-onset type 2 diabetes.
Dr Middleton is dedicated to training the next generation of medical professionals and he holds an Honorary Clinical Lecturer position with the University of Sydney. Dr Middleton has acted as a peer reviewer for Diabetes Care and the Journal of Diabetes and Its Complications. He is a member of the Australian Diabetes Society and the Endocrine Society of Australia. He holds an appointment as a part-time staff specialist at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Diabetes Centre and the Collaborative Centre for Cardiometabolic Health in Psychosis Service within the Sydney Local Health District.
In addition, he holds accreditation as an endocrinologist at Sydney Adventist Hospital and the Northern Beaches Hospital (for outpatient services). He provides outpatient care at the Shore Specialist Centre within the San Clinic and the Northern Beaches Hospital. Dr Middleton strives to provide high-quality, evidence-based care for all of his patients.
