Dr Vani Prasad is a Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon with expertise in lymphoedema surgery.
In addition to lymphoedema surgery, Dr Vani Prasad is also a craniofacial surgeon and was recently featured in a Catalyst program called “Face Surgeons”.
Mr Prasad speaks fluent Hindi and Telugu.
Dr Vani Prasad undertook advanced surgical training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Australia and New Zealand and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). He then completed Craniofacial training program for two and a half years in three countries. This included one year at the internationally acclaimed Australian Craniofacial Unit (Adelaide), Wellington (NZ) and in Rotterdam (Netherlands).
Vani Prasad undertook further fellowship training in Microsurgery in Winnipeg, Canada and Lymphoedema Supermicrosurgery fellowship with hands-on experience at the National Centre for Global Health and Medicine in Tokyo, Japan.
Vani splits time between Craniofacial Surgery (Public work) and Lymphoedema Surgery (Private Practice). He works as a Visiting Medical Specialist at the Australian Craniofacial Unit at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Royal Adelaide Hospital in Adelaide. Vani offers Lymphoedema surgery in private practice in Adelaide and Melbourne.
Vani is actively involved in Surgical volunteer work in East Timor and Indonesia through Overseas Specialist Surgical Association of Australia (OSSAA). Vani is a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Australian Lymphology Association and the Plastic Surgery Research Council USA. Vani is invited at several state, national and international conferences to talk about his experience on ICG Lymphatic Mapping and Lymphoedema Surgery.
