Gold Coast Private are pleased to announce, Gastroenterologist, Dr Waled Mohsen who will be joining Drs Lloyd Dorrington and Alex Dorrington in their practice at Brockway House, Southport.
Dr Mohsen is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist. He currently has private appointment at Gold Coast Private Hospital and public
appointment at Gold Coast University Hospital as a staff specialist in gastroenterology.
He completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney (Honors) and subsequently completed his Advanced Gastroenterology Training at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (NSW Liver Transplant Centre) and Liverpool Hospital. Dr Mohsen’s training has encompassed the full gamut of Gastroenterology issues including liver disease and functional bowel disease. He has extensive experience in the performance of luminal gastrointestinal procedures and experience with the management of complex inflammatory bowel disease.
After completing his gastroenterology training in Sydney, Dr Mohsen took up a Research and Clinical Fellowship in Oxford (John Radcliffe Hospital), United Kingdom where he focused on inflammatory bowel disease and quality colonoscopy. He has presented at local and international conferences and has published studies in peer-reviewed medical journals. He is actively involved in the teaching of gastroenterology trainees and junior doctors at Gold Coast University Hospital.
Dr Mohsen has a strong commitment to quality patient-centered care. He is firm in his belief that good communication and patient advocacy is the key to good care and optimal outcomes.
