Dr Wendy Hawke

Dr Wendy Hawke is an Obstetrician Gynaecologist working at POWPH and is Director of Obstetrics at the RHW in Randwick, Sydney. She is experienced in managing both straightforward and complicated pregnancies, and general office gynaecology. She shares her private practice with her husband, Dr Stephen Coogan, also an Obstetrician Gynaecologist.

A native New Zealander, Dr Hawke completed her medical degree in 1991 before moving to Sydney in 1994 to undertake specialist training in O&G at RHW. She, with Dr Coogan, completed her final two years of training in Salisbury and Portsmouth, UK in 2000 and 2001 before returning to Sydney in 2002 to set up practice together. 

Dr Hawke encourages and supports normal birth as much as possible, but, has the skill base to care for all complications arising in pregnancy. She has a particular interest in managing women with pre-existing diabetes, as has worked with the Diabetes in Pregnancy service at RHW since 2005.

Her private practice offices are within the hospital complex, and she lives in Randwick, so has timely access to deliveries when needed. She offers office gynaecology services through her private practice as has sound general gynaecological skills.
