Dr Weranja Ranasinghe is an Australian-trained urologist and uro-oncologic surgeon with a public and private practice in Melbourne. He has extensive experience in treating patients with urological conditions and is internationally recognised for his work in urologic cancers, particularly prostate cancers. He is a consultant urologist at Monash Health and Austin Health and has joint appointments at Monash and La Trobe Universities. He also serves on Urologic Society, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Monash Health committees and is an oncology editor for the British Journal of Urology Compass journal. Dr Weranja completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) degree at the University of Bristol (UK) in 2006 and received membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS Ed) in Edinburgh (UK) in June 2008. He was awarded his PhD at University of Melbourne for his work in advanced prostate cancers and received Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS Urology) in 2019. Weranja then undertook the Society of uro-oncology fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Texas, US, where he gained experience in advanced oncologic surgery including robotic, laparoscopy and open surgery. |
