Dr Yee-Leng Loh

Dr. Yee Leng Loh is a Rehabilitation Specialist working publicly in the statewide Spinal Injuries Unit at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. She is a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM).

Dr. Loh began her medical career after graduating in Malaysia in 2006, initially practicing as a General Medicine Physician. She later migrated to Australia to pursue her specialization in rehabilitation medicine. Her passion for rehabilitation was sparked in 2015 while working in a stroke unit in Ipswich, where she managed hyperacute stroke survivors.  Since then, she has worked across different health services in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, adding valuable experience working with the Queensland community.

Throughout her training, Dr. Loh has developed extensive experience managing a diverse range of conditions, including:

• Spinal cord injury, stroke and brain injury

• Musculoskeletal conditions and post-joint replacement recovery 

• General deconditioning

Dr. Loh is dedicated to patient-centred care, focusing on optimizing functional outcomes to enhance her patients’ quality of life. Her special clinical interests include neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. She established the spasticity and cervical dystonia service at Sunnybank Private Hospital last year and is an accredited ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin injector. She administers botulinum toxin in the outpatient setting for patients with neurological disorders presenting with spasticity.

Committed to medical education, Dr. Loh is a current Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland and Griffith University. She also serves as a supervisor for residents, registrars and advanced trainees in local hospitals, sharing her knowledge and expertise with the next generation of clinicians.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Loh enjoys traveling both locally and abroad, embracing diverse cultures. She also loves reading and spending quality time with her family.
