Dr Yee Leng Loh is an AFRM fellow currently working a consultant at stroke and geriatric rehabilitation services providing care to people with complex medical and surgical needs in Metro South and West Moreton health services.
She first completed her degree in Malaysia in 2006 and worked as a General Medicine Physician before migrating to Australia. She first developed her interest in rehabilitation medicine when she worked in a stroke unit managing hyperacute stroke survivors in 2015. During her training, she has experience in managing patients with strokes, brain and spinal injuries, heart disease, general deconditioning following prolonged ICU admissions, and musculoskeletal or post-joint replacement.
She values patient-centred care in optimizing the best outcome for her patients.
She has special interests in post-stroke and geriatric rehabilitation. She is an accredited ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin injector for the management of spasticity.
Dr Loh is passionate about teaching and sharing her knowledge. She is a current associate lecturer at the University of Queensland and a supervisor for residents and registrars in local hospitals.
She loves travelling locally as well as abroad as she embraces the differences in cultures. She also enjoys reading and spending time with her daughters in her time away from work.
